Erin Wilde concluded a tremendous sophomore season that saw her win her second straight outdoor Big Sky Championship on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA First Rounds in Fayetteville, Ark.
Â
Wilde finished 27th in the West with a clearance of 5-7.25 and no misses. She successfully cleared 5-5.25 on her first attempt as well before falling out of the competition at the height of 5-9.25.
Â
"Erin has had a great year," head coach Doug Fraley said. "She's raised her level of consistency big-time this year. She won two conference championships, and improved at this meet compared to last year when she only cleared one height."
Â
The sophomore improved upon her finish from last season. As a freshman, she placed 38th at the First Round meet.
Â
Wilde finishes the year having cleared at least 5-7 in eight of the nine total meets, with the season opener the only exception.
Â
"I think as a young athlete learning the process of coming to this meet she is by no means satisfied with her result and I look forward to seeing what she can do when she comes back next year when she's more mature, stronger, and better," Fraley said.
