
Grizzly Athletics and Townsquare Media Missoula Announce New Long-Term Broadcast and Digital Media Agreement

Missoula, Mont. – August 12, 2024 – As Missoula and all of Montana gear up for an exciting new season of University of Montana sports, Grizzly Athletics, Grizzly Sports Properties and Townsquare Media Missoula (NewsTalk KGVO AM1290 / 98.3FM / station apps and website) are proud to announce a new broadcast and media agreement. The seven-year deal is an upgrade and extension of their long-term relationship serving as the University of Montana flagship radio station for all live football and men's basketball broadcasts, including post season games and the weekly football coaches show.
As part of the agreement, Townsquare will relaunch and rebrand KGRZ (KGRZ AM1450 / 92.7FM / station apps and website) as KGRIZ, the new home for exclusive daily programming on everything Montana Grizzlies, Lady Griz basketball games, and the men's and women's basketball coaches show.
KGRIZ will also be the home of a new daily show set launch on August 19 called The Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein from 5-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The show will feature the biggest names in Montana sports - coaches, players, athletic department staff and Grizzly legends. The Daily Drive will be everything Montana Grizzlies. Plus, "Voice of the Griz" Riley Corcoran will join the show on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the season.
Sauerwein will also provide a daily on-air/online update which will broadcast hourly across all 9 Townsquare Media Missoula stations including KYSS Country 94.9, The Eagle Country 93.3, 96.3 The Blaze, NewsTalk KGVO, Z-100 Classic Rock, Zoo-FM 96.9, Alt 95.7 and KMPT The Patriot AM930 / 99.7 FM.
On Wednesday nights during the Fall, KGRIZ will also run an extended Daily Drive with Ace leading up the football Coaches Show, which will originate on KGVO and be simulcast on KGRIZ.
