
Five Grizzlies named Academic All-District

Five members of the Montana softball team were named Academic All-District this week by College Sports Communicators.

Presley Jantzi, Jessica Stanfield and Grace Haegele were each honored for the second time, while Makena Strong and Madison Tarrant were recognized for the first time.

Haegele and Strong also were named winners of the UM President's Award last month at Montana's Scholar-Athlete Honors Banquet.

Jantzi graduated earlier this month with a degree in sociology and a 3.59 GPA. She departs as one of the most accomplished hitters in program history, ranking in the top 10 in more than dozen categories.

Stanfield graduated earlier this month with a degree in communication studies and a cumulative GPA of 3.73. She matched Jantzi for the team lead in home runs as a senior.

Strong graduated earlier this month with a degree in communication studies. She concluded her undergraduate career with a perfect 4.00 GPA.

Haegele has a dozen career wins as a pitcher and will be back for one more season in 2026. She has a 3.89 GPA as an elementary education major.

Tarrant had a 4.00 GPA in the spring and has a cumulative GPA of 3.90. She made 38 starts at catcher as a sophomore and ranked third on the team in batting average and extra-base hits.
