Griz soccer program does it again

The Montana soccer program earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches for the 2024-25 school year, the organization announced this week.

It marks the 15th time in program history that Montana has earned the award. The Grizzlies have qualified for the Team Academic Award in each of coach Chris Citowicki's first seven seasons.

Citowicki's team had a 3.66 GPA in the fall, while Montana was going 12-2-5 and winning its second consecutive Big Sky Conference regular-season championship.

Montana had a 3.70 team GPA for the spring semester.

Eighteen Grizzlies earned Academic All-Big Sky honors this past winter, while six players were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.

In July, Charley Boone was named Montana's female Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete, giving Citowicki's program the department's female representative five of the last seven years.

Montana was one of only three programs from the Big Sky Conference to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.
