The Montana soccer team dropped its final non-conference match of the season on Sunday afternoon, losing 4-0 to Gonzaga at Luger Field in Spokane.

Gonzaga (5-4-1) scored the game-winning goal in the 16th minute, then scored again in the 43rd to build a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs added second-half goals in the 47th and 74th minutes to record their largest-ever margin of victory over the Grizzlies (2-6-0), who now move into their Big Sky Conference schedule.

Montana was out-shot 17-0 in the first half before creating seven second-half opportunities, three of which were on goal. Gonzaga finished with a 28-7 advantage in shots, putting 11 on goal.

Freshman Grace Morton took three of the Grizzlies' seven shots, junior goalkeeper Avery Heeb made a season-high seven saves.

Six field players went the full 90 minutes, including Mia Draper, who hadn't played since the MSU Billings match on Aug. 30.

Draper, with a padded cast on her left wrist, had Montana's best chance when her shot from 30 yards out was punched over the crossbar in the 59th minute by Gonzaga goalkeeper Michaela McCollum.

Montana will open its Big Sky schedule when it plays at Southern Utah and at Utah Tech on Thursday, Oct. 1, and on Sunday, Oct. 4.
