2014: Ellis played in five games and started in two. He was ranked in career receiving touchdowns (13th, with 16 TDs) and receiving yards (28th, with 1,368 yards) going into the preseason.
2013: He became the 11th receiver in school history to have more than 1,000 receiving yards with a team-high 1,008. Those 1,008 receiving yards a year ago ties him for 10th for the most in a season with Matt Wells (1,008, 1995). His 14 receiving TDs tie him for the third most in single-season history with Etu Molden (14, 2001), while his 15 total touchdowns a year ago tie him for the eighth most ever with Marc Mariani (15, 2009). He was the recipient of UM's Terry Dillon Award (outstanding back or receiver).
He was tabbed second team All-Big Sky Conference at both wide receiver and as a return specialist. He averaged a league-high 23.4 yards per catch. He was ranked in the league's top 10 in five categories: first in punt return average (12.2 ypr); fourth in kickoff return average (24.0 ypr); tied for sixth in scoring (6.9 ppg); sixth in all-purpose yards (142.4 ypg); and 10th in receiving yards a game (77.5 pg). His 14 TD grabs were the third most in the FCS and in the Big Sky. He was ranked seventh in the nation in punt returns; 19th in all-purpose yards; and 39th in kickoff return average. His 1,851 all-purpose yards were the seventh most in a season.
2012: He was third on the team with 23 receptions, and averaged a team-high 15.7 yards per catch.
2011: He attended the University of Hawaii to play football, but never did play there.
HIGH SCHOOL: Career-wise he had 109 receptions for 1,893 yards and 24 TDs, plus eight kick/punt returns for touchdowns, along with 143 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 9 interceptions. His football teams at Skyview had a three-year record of 28-9. His senior year he was selected the league's Defensive Player of the Year, and named all-state on defense. He was a first team all-league pick at defensive back and at wide receiver. He also lettered three times in baseball and once in track.
CAREER HIGHS: He had 8 catches against Eastern Washington at home in 2013 and at North Dakota in 2012. He had 188 receiving yards at UND in '13 - the 15th highest total in single-game history at Montana. He had a 98-yard kickoff return for a game-winning TD at South Dakota in '13 with 1:36 left in the game. That 98-yard KOR for a score is the third longest in school history. His career-long catch is a 71-yarder for a touchdown at USD in. His career-long punt return is 54 yards against Oklahoma Panhandle State in '13. He had a 24-yard run against Portland State in '13.
