2021-22 (Freshman): Played in 10 games as a true freshman, totaling 42 minutes, 12 points, four rebounds and two assists... All points, rebounds and assists came in a two-game stretch vs. Yellowstone Christian (Dec. 10) and SAGU AIC (Dec. 13), including nine points and two rebounds vs. the Warriors... Played in four Big Sky games... Made his collegiate debut at Mississippi State (Nov. 13).

High School: Chose to forego his senior season at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to play for Prolific Prep, an elite basketball academy in Napa, California… Prolific Prep went 31-3 during the 2019-20 season with Wetzel on its roster, playing against the top basketball academies and prep schools from across the entire country … Played alongside top recruits, including Jalen Green, the No. 1 high school player in the Class of 2020 who was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets… Gained celebrity fame on Instagram and social media after the debut of an Overtime (2.2 million YouTube subscribers) documentary series on Prolific Prep… Earned an invitation to play for Prolific Prep after a 44-point performance with Gain Elite at a spring adidas Gauntlet event… At Kennedy High School, led the Cougars in scoring as both a sophomore and junior, averaging 17.8 points per game during his final season in 2018-19.
