Pecos Fort entered his first season as Montana’s director of player personnel and video coordinator in the fall of 2021.
Fort comes to Missoula from Denver City HS in Denver City, Texas, where he coached the the offensive line, taught world history, and also coached the golf team. During his time as the O-line coach four of five starting DCHS starters made all-district teams.
Prior to that he was at Eastern New Mexico University where he served as the wide receivers and tight ends coach for the Greyhounds in 2018 and 2019. During that time he mentored a pair of strong position groups, led by All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention tight end Tyler Lynch.
Fort came to Portales, N.M., from Adams State University, where he served as a student assistant for the offensive line and the school's assistant equipment manager under former head coach Timm Rosenbach. He also gained experience in the planning and coordinating of team camps throughout the summers and managed team video operations.
Prior to returning to his alma mater in Adams State, Fort served as an assistant football coach at Lovington High School during which time he served as the assistant offensive line coach for the high school program and the head offensive line coach for the middle school program.
Fort also volunteered his time as an assistant basketball coach for the Alamosa Family Recreation Center and worked towards building a positive team environment and solid sportsmanship throughout the young athletes that he mentored.
The Lovington, N.M. native earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Adams State in 2017 and a masters degree from ENMU in 2020.
