He was named first team all-league and second team He was a second team All-CIF pick at middle linebacker as a senior. His senior season he had 119 tackles, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles. He was an all-league pick as a junior when he registered 81 tackles. He was a team captain his senior year. He received the coaches award as a junior. He was an All-CBL selection his junior and senior seasons. His prep football coach was Victory Landry. He lettered three times in football and twice in track.
