Roper joined the Grizzly basketball team at mid-season as a junior for 2009-10.
Football:
Montana: Justin is an outstanding player and will contribute this season. He is 2-0 as a starter at Montana.
2009: He played in 12 games and started twice (at UC Davis and versus Portland State). He joined the UM basketball team mid-way through the season. He joined the UM football team in June of 2009.
Oregon: He played in six games in 2008 at Oregon, and was sidelined with a knee injury that he suffered against Purdue...was 48-of-91-4 (.527) passing for 610 yards and three touchdowns, and he also rushed 17 times for 85 yards and a score as a sophomore...in 2007 he led the Ducks to a 56-21 Sun Bowl victory over South Florida and passed for a bowl record four touchdowns in his first career start...played in five games as a redshirt frosh.
High School: He was a PrepStar all-region pick and ranked among the top 75 prospects in Georgia and one of the top 28 quarterbacks in the nation following his senior year's 12-1 record at Buford High School. ...senior year he threw for more than 1,423 yards and 18 touchdowns... team went 25-3 his final two prep years and set a Georgia high school record by winning 47 games in a row...also lettered in basketball, track and field, and swimming...high school football coach was Jess Simpson.
Personal: His parents are Brad and Donna Roper of Buford. Birth date is July 28, 1987. He is a sociology major.
