2017: Academic All-Big Sky... Transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver as a senior, then returned to play quarterback as a backup in Montana's victory over Northern Arizona... Caught 12 passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns... Ran for 105 more yards and a score as well.
2016: Academic All-Big Sky... After transitioning from wide receiver to quarterback, Simis played in just four games … caught four passes for 46 yards, including a long of 23 … had two catches on Oct. 15 against Sacramento State.
2015: Played quarterback in five games, and started in three after both Brady Gustafson and Chad Chalich went down with injuries … Tied a school record in his first ever collegiate start, throwing for six touchdowns against North Dakota on Oct. 24 … Named ROOT Sports offensive co-Big Sky Player of the Week for his six TD performance … Named FCS National Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards … One of only four Grizzlies to throw for six TDs in a game (Others: Dickenson, Ah Yat and Johnson) … In five games threw for 740 yards on 63 completions with four interceptions … Rushed for 226 yards on 65 completions.
2014: Simis played in two games: vs. Central Washington and at Cal Poly.
2013: He was a redshirt.... Named 2013 Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: He completed 180 of 263 passes for 2,240 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior at Boise's Capital High School, and rushed for 535 yards and eight TDs. He first team all-state. He was named the Southern Idaho Conference "Player of the Year. " He served as a captain in the East-West Shrine Game. Career-wise he had 5,085 total career yards and 51 touchdowns. His head coach in football was his father, Todd Simis. He earned three letters in both football and baseball, and team captain in both sports as a senior. He was named his high school's Athlete of the Year.
PERSONAL: His major is education...his parents are Todd and Lissa Simis of Boise...hopes to teach high school government and coach football after graduation.
