HIGH SCHOOL: He was one of the leading receivers in the Fort Wayne Summit Athletic League with 50 catches for 683 yards while playing at Concordia Lutheran High School. He earned four letters in basketball and three in football, and an all-conference selection every season that he competed in those two sports. His high school football coach was Tim Mannigel. He was one of the fastest 400-meter runners in the prep ranks as a senior, with a personal best of 48.1.
