2023 (R-Sr.):
• A semifinalist for the 2023 William V Campbell Trophy, known as the "Academic Heisman"
• Academic All-Big Sky
Cotton was named a team captain at the onset of the season… Hauled in two interceptions, tied for the third-most on the team… Logged 32 tackles (12 solo) on the year, the 12th-most on the team… Also logged 1.5 TFLs and a half sack… Finished his distinguished three-year career at UM with 104 total tackles (48 solo) and seven pass deflections with two INTs, 2.5 TFLs and a half sack… He made 33 career starts and 41 appearances in three years after transferring from Oregon State... Represented UM at the Big Sky Kickoff media event in Spokane.

• Academic All-Big Sky
Started 11 games as a junior safety and made appearances in all 13 of Montana’s games… Totaled 44 tackles (19 solo) on the season and 1 TFL for a loss of three yards… Also broke up a pass against Eastern Washington… Tied his career high twice with five tackles against Idaho and Sacramento State.
2020-21 (R-So. - Montana):
• Academic All-Big Sky
Transitioned from Corner to Safety during fall camp and earned a starting spot at nickel midway through the season... Played in 13 games and made seven starts... Racked up 28 tackles, two pass deflections, and a fumble recovery… Also a valuable contributor on special teams… Transferred from Oregon State to Montana at the beginning of the spring semester… Received an injury waiver from the NCAA, extending his playing clock for another year… Suited up as a Redshirt Sophomore in 2020-21.

Son of Tracy and Audrey Cotton… Has two brothers, Tracy Jr. and Jerrell, and three sisters, Sasha, Jag and TraChell… Enjoys helping at charities and enjoying time with family… Honor Roll student… Majored in public health as an undergraduate and received his master’s in public administration in the spring of 2023… First in his family to both attend and graduate from college...
