MONTANA: Travon (pronounced: trey-vonn) is an explosive player, and he and fellow-senior Jordan Canada give the Griz one of the most dynamic one-two punches at running back at the FCS level.
2013: He was the Grizzlies' second leading rusher with 523 yards for six touchdowns. He played in 11 games (he missed the Sacramento State and South Dakota games due to an injury).
MARSHALL: He was the second leading rusher for Marshall as a redshirt freshman in 2011, when he rushed 143 times for 551 yards and three touchdowns, and was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team, playing in all 13 games with two starts. He also caught 21 passes for 171 yards. After three games in the 2012 season he led the Herd with 93 yards on 39 carries, but was moved then to defense, which led to his transfer to Montana. His head coach at Marshall was Doc Holliday. He had 17 carries for 114 yards and a 69-yard touchdown run at Tulsa. He caught six passes for 68 yards in a 34-27 overtime win at East Carolina.
HIGH SCHOOL: He rushed for 1,237 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior at Helix High School in San Diego before attending the Milford (N.Y.) Academy. He was rated a four-star recruit by several recruiting services and originally signed with the University of Florida. He also had offers from West Virginia, USC, Miami (Fla.), to name a few. He also lettered in track and field and baseball in high school.
CAREER HIGHS: He had 136 yards rushing against Portland State last season. His other 100-yard rushing game was 118 in the 2013 opener at home against Appalachian State, when he had a career-high 20 carries. He scored a touchdown in six different games a year ago. He had a career-high three catches at UC Davis last year. He had a 70-yard TD reception at North Dakota a year ago.
