One of the top defensive backs in the FCS as a junior... Will be a leader on the Grizzly defense as a senior... Was passed down Montana's legacy #37 jersey from former linebacker Levi Janacaro in June.

Led the FCS for much of the year and finished tied for the fourth-most interceptions in the nation with 5 – the most picks in the Big Sky Conference... Opened the season with an interception in each of the first four games, and added a fifth against Montana State, picking-off a Bobcat pass for a fourth quarter turnover that led to the game-sealing touchdown two plays later... Led by Gradney, Montana picked off 17 passes that season, the fourth most in the FCS... Finished top-four in the Big Sky in total passes defended with 12, despite missing two games... Had a career-high two pass breakups against Furman in the FCS playoffs, the second of which sealed the win for the Grizzlies and sent them to the semifinal... Put in 27 tackles (17 solo) on the year, led the team with 5 interceptions and was second on the squad with 7 pass breakups. Also forced a fumble. Made 12 starts and appeared in 13 games, missing two games to injury.

Played in all 13 games his sophomore season as a backup cornerback and on special teams… Logged a total of 10 tackles (6 solo)… Also broke-up a pair of passes.
2020-21 (R-Fr.):

Played in every game for UM this season, emerging as one of the top special teams players in the conference… Recorded eight tackles on the year between ST and limited minutes in the cornerback rotation… Recorded a tackle for loss against Western Illinois.

High School: Three-time letter winner in football, two-time letter winner in track, also earned a letter in wrestling … 2018 AA first-team all-state cornerback … 2018 Eastern AA first-team all-conference cornerback … 2018 team captain … 2018 Montana AA state champs … 9 interceptions, 87 tackles, 24 pass breakups, and 4 forced fumbles as a senior … 2017 second-team all-state cornerback … 2017 first-team all-conference cornerback … Set a PR in the 100 of 11.34 seconds, 22.58 in the 200, and 49.55 in the 400 … Ran on the state champion 1,600m relay … Also played baseball.
