Griz To Revive Holiday Hoop Tournament

After a four-year hiatus, The University of Montana will resume its Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament this upcoming season on Saturday and Sunday, November 29-30.
The tournament field features the host Grizzlies against UC Santa Barbara, while the opening game pits Southeast Missouri State against St. Mary's (Calif.).
Game times are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. both days.
"One of the things that I really wanted to do when I got to Montana was to start up the holiday tournament again," said Griz head coach Pat Kennedy. "I was impressed with the Lady
Griz tournament this past year and wanted to get something like that going in our program too.
"We're very excited about the caliber of the teams," Kennedy continued. "They are all highly competitive, strong programs, and it's a well-balanced field. We hope to make the tournament field better and better every year."
Montana hosted its tournament from 1980 to 1999. This season will be the 21st year of the Grizzlies' annual holiday tourney. Montana has won 11 of 20 tournament championships.
