Lady Griz face Deja Vu in final preseason tuneup

The University of Montana women's basketball team will play its final preseason game on Sunday afternoon when the Lady Griz play Deja Vu, a team made up of former Montana players. Game time is 2:05 p.m. at the Adams Center fieldhouse.
UM will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 22, when the Lady Griz host Montana-Western at 7:05.
The Opponent: This year's Deja Vu team will be made up of eight players. Among the eight, they have four 1,000-point scorers, three Big Sky Conference most valuable players, 13 all-conference selections, 12 academic all-conference honorees and the Big Sky Conference single-season and career leader in assists.
A breakdown:
Deming, Julie (1999-2004; Portland, Ore.): Sunday's game will be her first at the Adams Center since scoring a career-high 29 points against Louisiana Tech last March in the NCAA tournament. Named All-BSC as a senior, Deming scored 1,073 career points, No. 20 on the UM list. Deming is the top 3-point shooter in Lady Griz history, shooting .440 for her career.
Habbe, Sue (1980-83; Missoula, Mont.): The 1982 Shannon Green Most Inspirational Player in voting by her teammates. Played in 54 career games, totaling 110 points and 63 rebounds. Helped Montana to a three-year record of 70-17.
Harrington, Megan (1996-2000; Missoula, Mont.): Twice named the Shannon Green Most Inspirational Player and a four-time selection for Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors. Led the team in assists in 2000 as a senior with 115.
Lorenzen, Brooklynn (2000-04; Corvallis, Ore.): Named the Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player as a senior and All-Big Sky Conference as a junior, Lorenzen is the Montana and league single-season (251) and career leader (701) in assists. The 2004 BSC tournament MVP, Lorenzen was named Academic All-Big Sky Conference three times and earned Academic All-District VII honors as a senior.
Redpath, Krista (1995-2000; Great Falls, Mont.): Scored 1,026 career points, No. 21 on UM list. A four-time letterwinner, Redpath led the Lady Griz to a cumulative record of 95-23, four Big Sky titles and four NCAA tournament appearances. Led Montana in field goal percentage in 1997 (.466) and blocks in 2000 (53). Currently ranks No. 6 on the UM career blocks list.
Sisco, Skyla (1993-98; Malta, Mont.): Four All-Big Sky Conference selections, four Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors, four NCAA tournament appearances. Sisco was named the league's most valuable player as a senior in 1998 and finished her career with 1,238 points, No. 9 on the Montana list. Led the Lady Griz in assists three times and in scoring once. Ranks No. 2 on the UM career list in assists (587) and No. 4 in steals (235).
Weyler, Linda (1996-2000; Billings, Mont.): The 2000 Big Sky Conference regular-season and tournament most valuable player. A two-time All-BSC selection. Scored 1,108 career points, No. 17 in UM history. Averaged 10.5 points per game for her career, including a team-high 18.9 points in 1999. Totaled 530 points that season, the fifth-highest single-season total in UM history.
Williams, Margaret (1982-87; Olympia, Wash.): A member of Montana's first NCAA tournament team in 1983, Williams was named All-Mountain West Conference as a junior and senior and earned academic all-conference honors as a senior in addition to being named the Mountain West's Scholar-Athlete in 1987. Led Montana in assists as a senior (209), the third-highest single-season total in Lady Griz history. Five-hundred-eleven assists rank No. 3 all-time and 223 steals rank No. 5.
