Griz women's tennis falls to Cal State Northridge

The University of Montana women's tennis team lost 5-1 to Cal State Northridge Wednesday evening in Northridge, Calif. The Grizzlies fall to 4-9 on the season with the loss. The Matadors improve to 5-9 overall.
Match results were based only on singles results because the doubles point was not played.
Griz freshman Mari Castello improved her season singles record 8-4 with a win at the No. 4. Castello, the first-year player from Belleville, Ill., won 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 over CSUN's Yasuyo Hashimoto.
Montana returns to action on Thursday, March 24, to play the remainder of the match with Cal State Fullerton. The Grizzlies trailed 1-0 after losing the doubles point to the Titans before rainy conditions hit Fullerton Calif., forcing the match to be postponed.
