Swanson snares conference honor

University of Montana senior Krista Swanson and Eastern Washington sophomore Chloe Nelson have been named Co-Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after both tied for third at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.
Swanson, from Forest Lake, Minn., fired rounds of 73, 69, 73 to finish with a one-under-par 215 at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo. The 69 tied the Montana school record for low 18-hole score. Swanson helped Montana to a 10th-place finish in the 17-team tournament. The defending Big Sky champs shot rounds of 302-315-294 for a 911. The 294 was a Montana record. This is Swanson??s fourth Golfer of the Week Award.
Colorado won the tournament with an 872. Kay Hoey of Long Beach State finished with a seven-under-par 209 to claim medalist honors.
