Griz to hold first of two fall scrimmages Saturday

MISSOULA ?C The University of Montana Grizzly football team will have the first of its two scrimmages of 2007 fall drills this Saturday, August 18. The scrimmage begins at approximately 10:10 a.m. in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. UM??s two fall football scrimmages are free to the public.
Fifth-year Griz head coach Bobby Hauck and his team are preparing for their season opener on Sept. 1, a home contest versus a Southern Utah team that returns 19 starters.
??We continue to practice very hard, so Saturday??s scrimmage will be more about our players who don??t have a lot of game experience getting some reps and developing some depth, and having some our new and younger players experience playing at college speed,?? Hauck said.
UM??s final scrimmage is Thursday, August 23, starting around 9:15 a.m. in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
After the scrimmage the Griz will have Sunday off. The team will then practice every day, and has two-a-days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The final day of doubles is next Friday, Aug. 24.
