Acharya inducted to MSWGA Hall of Fame

Jasi Acharya, the 2006 Big Sky Conference individual medalist for Montana's conference-champion women's golf team, will be inducted into the Montana State Women's Golf Association Hall of Fame this summer. She is a two-time State Amateur champion.
The ceremony will take place Wednesday, July 23, at Laurel Golf Club in conjunction with the MSWGA Amateur and Senior Amateur tournaments, which will be held in Laurel July 22-24.
Acharya was a four-time Montana Class B individual champion at Columbus High School. She capped her four-year career with the Grizzlies by leading the team to the 2006 Big Sky title, the school's first conference championship in women's golf.
Acharya was the medalist at the 2006 Big Sky meet, shooting a six-over for the three championship rounds to finish three strokes clear of the rest of the field.
Acharya is playing professionally on the Cactus Tour, a women's professional golf tour that holds all its events in the Phoenix, Ariz., area. Through early May Acharya was tied for 32nd on the tour money list.
