Johnson scores player of week honor

Anthony Johnson of The University of Montana has been selected as the Big Sky Conference men???s basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 7-10.
Johnson, a 6-foot-3 senior guard from Tacoma, Wash., averaged 22.5 points, three assists and two rebounds per game leading the Grizzlies to conference home victories over Eastern Washington and Portland State.
Johnson tied a season high with 25 points in a 79-66 victory over Eastern Washington on Friday. Johnson went 3-of-4 from 3-point range and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. He also had three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Johnson followed with 20 points, four assists and a rebound in a 90-58 win over Portland State on Saturday. Johnson went 7-of-7 from the free-throw line and 6-of-12 from the field.
The victories evened Montana???s conference record to 3-3 and improve the Grizzlies??? overall record to 12-6.
This is the second Player of the Week honor for Johnson this season and the sixth of his career.
