Pink Zone game scheduled for Saturday

???Team Up Montana??? was created in 2009 by St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center??and the St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation to raise cancer awareness and funding for the communities of western Montana.
Last year Grizzly Athletics approached St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center about participating in the ???Pink Zone,??? a Women???s Basketball Coaches Association initiative to raise breast cancer awareness throughout women???s basketball, college campuses and communities.
In 2009, the campaign reached over 912,000 fans, raised over $1.3 million and united more than 1,600 teams and organizations in the fight against breast cancer. Over 56 collegiate teams broke game attendance records at their event.
Join current and former Lady Griz players at the ???Team Up Montana: Get in the Game against Breast Cancer??? event taking place at the Lady Griz game against Eastern Washington on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Dahlberg Arena.
The first 250 who receive a mammogram at St. Patrick Hospital between Feb.1 and Feb. 12 will be granted free entrance into the game, receive a free pink ???Team Up Montana??? shirt and sit in a special ???Pink Zone.??? To schedule a mammogram call St. Patrick Hospital at 406-543-7271.
Donations from 2009 ???Team Up Montana??? events allowed St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Foundation to pledge $10,000 in the form of screening mammogram vouchers distributed to primary care providers in Missoula.
Throughout 2010, any woman unable to afford a screening mammogram will be given a voucher by a primary care provider. Vouchers cover the entire cost of a screening mammogram and will be accepted at St. Patrick Hospital. Any woman without a primary care provider can call Partnership Health Center at 406.258.4789 for a St. Patrick Hospital referral and voucher.
Women using vouchers at St. Patrick Hospital between Feb. 1 and Feb. 12 will also receive free admission into the game, a pink shirt and will sit in the ???Pink Zone.???
A pre-game ceremony will acknowledge breast cancer survivors. Additional recognition of survivors, family and friends will be announced during the game.
Pink ???Team Up Montana??? shirts will be sold at the game and donations will also be accepted at tables in the Adam Center. Donations can also be made online at www.teamupmontana.com.
All shirt sales and donation proceeds go to the St. Patrick Hospital Foundation Cancer Compassion Fund ??? helping Montanans suffering from breast cancer. There will also be a bake sale at the game for the fund.
Halftime will be highlighted by Little Griz Spirit Day.
