Northern Arizona, which has won the last two Big Sky tournaments, neither as the No. 1 seed and host, was placed atop the poll by a wide margin. The Lumberjacks, who return 10 starters from last year???s team that snuck into the tournament with a 4-3-0 league record, picked up six first-place votes and 48 points.
Sacramento State, which finished fifth last year with a 3-2-2 Big Sky record, and Portland State, which won the 2009 regular-season title with a 4-1-2 league mark and hosted last November???s tournament, picked up the remaining first-place votes.
The Hornets earned 38 points. The Vikings, who lost 2009 Big Sky Offensive MVP Dolly Enneking and Defensive MVP Cris Lewis, collected 36 points.
Weber State, which had made six straight Big Sky tournaments prior to missing last year???s postseason, was picked fourth with 30 points. The Wildcats went 2-5-0 in league matches in 2009 to tie for seventh.
