There are still seats available for The University of Montana (9-2) football team's second round NCAA Division 1 Football Championship Subdivision playoff game against the University of Central Arkansas Bears (9-3) Saturday, Dec. 3, which has a 12:05 p.m. kickoff.
There have been almost 20,000 tickets sold so far for the match-up between the fifth-ranked Grizzlies and the 15th-ranked Bears. The capacity of Washington-Grizzly Stadium/John Hoyt Field is 25,217. Tickets are $26 each.
There are also approximately 800 UM student tickets, priced at $5 each, left for purchase.
The Grizzlies finished 7-1 in the Big Sky Conference to claim the league regular-season championship over the top-ranked Bobcats (9-2, 7-1), due to the head-to-head tie-breaker in the league's standings. It was the seventh straight win for Montana. This is the 18th season in the last 19 years that the Griz have advanced to the playoffs. UM's losses were at Tennessee (42-16) and at Sacramento State (42-28).
Central Arkansas finished second in the Southland Conference with a 6-1 record, and its only league loss was 31-10 on the road to No. 1 seed and top-ranked Sam Houston State (11-0). The Bears' other two losses were 53-24 at Arkansas State, the Sun Belt champion, and 48-42 (OT at Louisiana Tech, the Western Athletic Champion). With their playoff win the Bears have now won eight games in a row.
Tickets are on sale in the Adams Center box office daily from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and at all Griz Tix outlets. For tickets please call 406-243-4051 or 1-888-MONTANA. A handling fee will be added to phone orders.
