50-Martin Breunig (brew-nig), C, 6-8, 210, Jr., TR, Leverkusen, Germany (U of Washington)
Martin is a transfer from the University of Washington and he has a bright future at UM, but he will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules. He was a two-year letterman for the Huskies, where he played in 30 career games.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was an All-American All-Star at Landrad-Lucas Prep School. He played at St. John's Northwest Military Academy in Delafield, Wis., as a senior for coach Brian Richert in 2010-11 after coming over to the United States for the first time in August of 2010. He competed for the junior teams of Bayer Giants Leverkusen in Germany. Prior to coming to the U.S. he played in the NBBL (Nachwuchs Basketball Bundesliga) where he averaged 14.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 2.3 assists per game, while shooting 59% from the field. He also competed for the German under 18 national team at the FIBA European Championships in Vilnius, Lithuania during the summer of 2010. He had originally committed to Maryland.
His major is communications. Birth date: Feb. 18, 1992. His parents are Michael Breunig and Pikul Brehm of Leverkusen.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Wayne Tinkle ON MARTIN: "We're glad to have him. I tell both he and Chris (Kemp, a junior forward at UM) that as often as I can. It's going to be tough watching him every day at practice, knowing that we can't put him into the game. He's has a bright future for us.
"He's a big, physical post. He's very athletic, and plays hard; and he's really a great kid. It's going to be very beneficial for him to have this year off and learn our system, and improve in some areas. I know he will have a great couple of years for us when he's ready to go."

Many people don't know this, but I: am a pro Call of Duty (video game) player.
My greatest moment in sports was: Playing for the national team.

The thing I like best about Montana basketball is: Talented group, really funny group.
The thing that impresses me about Coach Tinkle: His knowledge and player friendly attitude.
My advice to youngsters is: Keep going, it pays off.
My future goals are: Be the best I can be and win as many championships as possible with Montana.
