Men's tennis team loses 4-3

The Montana Grizzlies men's tennis team lost 4-3 to Grand Canyon University on Saturday afternoon in Reno, Nevada.
In any 4-3 match, you can technically look back and consider doubles play, or any of the singles matches, as the deciding point.
"They're a good team, they're like us -- they're very deep," Nord added. "But I'm a little disappointed we didn't have the victory."
In doubles flights, Grand Canyon won at No. 3 while Ethan Vaughn and Semion Branzburg clipped Ahmad Saleem and Felix Schueller 8-5 at No. 1.
The doubles point rested on the shoulders of veterans Mikolaj Caruk and Andrew Warren. The Lopes prevailed in the No. 2 doubles match, winning 8-7 with an 8-5 tiebreaker.
"Doubles has been our question mark for the last couple years," Nord said. "We need to really work on that, and not let those slip away, because it has cost us a couple victories."
In singles, Griz players won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3. Warren clinched a victory at No. 1 singles in straight sets, while Caruk fought back to win in three sets after losing his first set 6-2.
"I can't remember the last time we lost a match where we won the top 3 singles, and still lost," Nord said. "It's unusual for us, because we're stronger at the bottom of the lineup."
Branzburg defeated Adrian Legarreta 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3. The sophomore has mostly played at No. 4 this spring.
"He's probably playing our most competitive tennis right now," Nord said. "He moved up from No. 4 to No. 3, and he's doing nothing but winning. We just need to have everyone jump on board with that mentality."
Montana plays UC Davis on Sunday at 11 a.m.
