Griz in second through two rounds at Sac State Invitational

The Montana women's golf team shot rounds of 310 and 303 Monday and is in second place at the Sacramento State Invitational. The five-team tournament is being played at the Sierra View Country Club at Roseville, Calif.
The host Hornets, who shot rounds of 299 and 300, hold a 14-stroke lead over the Grizzlies. Cal State Northridge (297-317) is one back of Montana. Northern Colorado (310-312) and North Dakota (323-324) also are competing at the first-year event.
Sophomore Barbora Bakova (75-74--149) is tied for second with Sacramento State's Sagee Palavivatana (70-79--149) with one round still to be played on Tuesday on the par-72 course. Sac State's Lexie Hall (75-70--145) has a four-shot lead in the small field of 30.
Griz sophomore Alexa Schendelman (76-75--151) is alone in fourth, but no other Montana scorers are in the top 14. Junior Hayley Bingham (79-76--155), who is competing as an individual, is tied for 10th.
Junior Phoebe Tan (80-77--157) and sophomore Amanda Kahn (80-77--157) are tied for 15th, while senior Tara Green (79-83--162) and freshman Hailey Hoagland (83-79--162) are tied for 23rd. Hoagland is competing as an individual.
