The Montana women's golf team shot a final-round 325 Tuesday to finish in 13th place at the 15-team Sacramento State Invitational at the Sierra View Country Club in Roseville, Calif.

The Grizzlies entered the day in 13th place after shooting rounds of 323 and 313 on Monday.

"We need to take what we learned at this tournament and apply it the next week and a half at practice, and try to be better at our next tournament," said coach Matt Higgins, whose team will take next week off from competition, then play the first three weeks of April.

Montana took 10 strokes off its score between Monday's first and second rounds, but the Grizzlies were unable to carry that momentum into Tuesday.

Freshman Baylee Barckley, who played her final 16 holes Tuesday at 2-over, led Montana with a 77. It was her second straight round of 77 after shooting an 82 Monday morning. None of her teammates shot better than 81 on Tuesday.

Barckley and junior Alexa Schendelman (77-78-81) both tied for 37th.

San Francisco (296-298-295), which had three of the tournament's four sub-300 rounds, won comfortably by 18 strokes over Nevada (302-304-301). Santa Clara (300-301-307) was third.

The host Hornets were fourth overall and the top finisher among the eight Big Sky Conference teams competing. Montana, which came in 45 strokes behind Sacramento State, finished sixth among league teams.

San Francisco's Vanessa Ha (72-74-74) and Northern Colorado's Amanda Myers (74-74-72) both shot 4-over 220s to top the individual leaderboard. Ha defeated Myers on the second hole of the tiebreaker.

Montana will compete at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 4-5 in Maricopa, Ariz., the Bobcat Spring Invitational April 11-12 in Goodyear, Ariz., and the Big Sky Conference championship April 18-20 at Boulder City, Nev.
