With the Big Sky Conference basketball schedule passing its midpoint, the league office and member schools are continuing preparations and promotions for the men's and women's postseason tournaments, which will be held from March 6-11 in Reno, Nev.
Â
This week league officials and representatives from Reno will be in Missoula to promote the tournaments. The Montana-Montana State women's game will be played at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Dahlberg Arena. The men's game tips off at 7 p.m.
Â
"We're excited to continue on-site promotions by traveling to various institutions to promote the tournaments," said Big Sky Conference commissioner Andrea Williams.
Â
"This is one part of a multi-pronged effort to encourage fans to support the Big Sky's student-athletes in Reno and to experience great postseason basketball as teams compete for an NCAA automatic berth."
Â
As part of the visits, league and Reno officials will meet with fans, talk with program boosters, conduct sessions with local media and oversee "Reno Night" promotions.
Â
At various points throughout the season, fans will have the opportunity to earn all-session tickets to the tournaments. The grand prize includes hotel accommodations and other amenities.
Â
Big Sky fans are encouraged to go to RoadToReno.com to book tickets and accommodations for this year's tournaments.
Â
Montana's teams and fans will be staying at the Silver Legacy Resort-Casino. The facility is located just one block from the Reno Events Center, which will host the tournaments for the second consecutive year.
Â
Every postseason-eligible men's and women's program will participate in the tournaments.
