Gfeller, Krslovic earn academic accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Montana men's basketball program earned academic recognition for the second week in a row. Last week, it was announced that the Grizzlies obtained a team grade-point average above 3.0 for the second consecutive season, being one of three Big Sky Conference teams to be named to the NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards.
On Tuesday, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its individual award-winners, with UM stars Brandon Gfeller and Fabijan Krslovic earning 2016-17 Honors Court status – a nod to student-athletes for registering a 3.2 cumulative GPA or better, being either a junior or senior and having attended their current institution for at least one season.
Gfeller graduated in May with a degree in accounting, and in addition to being one of UM's all-time leaders for career three-pointers, graduated as a four-time Academic All-Big Sky selection. He was UM's 2016-17 male Big Sky Scholar-Athlete representative and a 2017 Allstate NABC Good Works Team nominee for his work in the community. He is now pursuing his master's degree. This is his second NABC Honors Court award, also being selected in 2015-16.
Krslovic enters his senior season for the Grizzlies and is working toward a degree in finance. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA. The native of Milsons Point in Australia is a two-time Academic All-Big Sky honoree. On the court, he started all 32 contests in 2016-17 and led the Griz in rebounding, steals and blocked shots. He was one of three Big Sky players to rank in the top 15 in the conference for both steals and blocked shots.
