Hoagland, Krslovic named Big Sky Scholar-Athletes

Hailey Hoagland (women's golf) and Fabijan Krslovic (men's basketball) are Montana's recipients of the 2017-18 Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete awards. Each of the league's 12 full-time members nominated a deserving female and male student-athlete to recognize, in addition to one award winner each from Cal Poly and UC Davis (football) and Hartford (men's golf).

To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), be a member of the graduating class and/or have completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have competed at least two years of intercollegiate competition and be a letterwinner in their respective sport.

Hoagland, a Butte, Mont., native, graduated in May with a degree in finance. She was a four-time Academic All-Big Sky Conference honoree, earning WGCA All-American Scholar status three times. As a senior in 2017-18, Hoagland led the Grizzlies with a 75.83 season stroke average, the second-best average in program history. She was named honorable mention All-Big Sky.

Hoagland played in 37 career tournaments and had two top-10 finishes – both as a senior. Her career stroke average of 77.80 ranks fourth in school history.

Krslovic was the male recipient of the 2017-18 Grizzly Cup, an annual award that goes to Montana's top all-around senior student-athlete. Like Hoagland, Krslovic also graduated in May with a degree in finance, in addition to a minor in math. Following his graduation, the four-time Academic All-Big Sky selection moved back to his native land of Australia to play basketball professionally.

On the court, Krslovic started a program-record 132 games – earning 116 starts – and ranks in the top 10 in school history for career steals. As a captain and glue of the team, Krslovic earned the team's Allan Nielsen Award (best represents Griz basketball) and Naseby Rhinehart Award (most inspirational player).
