Grizzlies make trip to Bozeman for Big Sky Preview
2/10/2022 10:35:00 AM | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
The Montana track & field team is headed east to Bozeman on Friday for a full day of competition at the Big Sky Preview. This will be the third time of the season the Griz compete in Bozeman. Â
The last time Montana was on the track, Griz junior Jaydon Green made history breaking a 41-year-old school record with a time of 7.97 in the 60-meter hurdles. The Griz also had three runners place in the top-three in the men's 5,000 meters (Joel Mendez (1st), Maxwell Scott (2nd), Ellis McKean (3rd)). Mendez, an Arizona native, ran a 14:30.36, setting a facility record and also recording the best time by a Griz athlete in more than two decades. Â
Montana will bring more than 40 athletes to the Big Sky Preview in preparation for the Big Sky Indoor Championships. An athlete who plans to stay busy during the event is senior Jaree Mane, who is competing in the 60-meters, long jump, and shot put.  Â
The meet is set to start at 3:30 p.m., starting with men's weight throw. Montana, Montana State and Weber State are the only teams competing at the event. All races and competitions on Friday will be available to watch on a live stream. Live results will be available as well. Â
