2012 Football Roster

Josh Harris
- Year:
- Redshirt Senior
- Hometown:
- Kalispell, Mont.
Montana: Josh had an excellent spring and will start at one of UM's defensive end positions. He is the Grizzlies fifth leading returning tackler in 2012.
2011: He played in all 14 games and was the team's 12th leading tackler with 43 stops. He tied with linebacker Caleb McSurdy for fourth on the squad with 9.5 tackles for loss.
2010: He would more-than-likely have started at one of UM's two defensive end spots, but suffered a season-ending knee injury in fall camp.
2009: He had a productive season as a redshirt freshman, playing in all 15 games, and was the team's 21st (tie) leading tackler with 19 stops. He was named to the All-Big Sky Conference academic team with a 3.65 GPA.
2008: He was a redshirt at UM.
High School: He was an all-state and first team all-conference selection his senior year when he had 47 tackles, eight sacks, and 14 quarterback hurries...team defensive MVP as a senior.....a two-time all-league pick in football...named honorable mention all-state as a junior...played in both the East-West Shrine Game and the Mon-Dak All-Star Game....lettered in football (three), basketball (two), and track (three)...named academic all-state twice...his high school football coach was Russell McCarvel.
Career Highs: He had 9 tackles 2.5 stops for losses, and a sack in UM's 30-24 win over Portland State in 2011. He had a forced fumble in a second round FCS home playoff win (41-14) over Central Arkansas last season.
Personal: His parents are Greg and Jeanie Harris of Kalispell. His major is sociology. Birth date: Sept. 15, 1989. Josh's dad, Greg, lettered in football at Montana from 1973-75, and was an All-Big Sky pick as a junior and senior.
Quoting Coach Delaney: "Josh is an unassuming guy who just lines up every single play, and plays hard. I think you will see that his senior year. He puts great pressure on the quarterback, and still is big enough and physical enough to stand in there and play the run game.
"Josh Harris is our leader with the front four. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. He has battled through some injuries, but he has just worked so hard in the weight room, and with the summer workout program and him being able to be in great condition, you're going to see some very special things by him at defensive end."
