Sophomore outside hitter Paige Clark helped Montana earn a 3-1 road win over rival Montana State on Friday, in front of a Big Sky Conference-record 6,457 fans... With the win, Montana is the only undefeated team in the Big Sky, and its 10-5 record overall is the program’s best 15-match start in 22 years... Clark led all players with 17 kills on .256 hitting (17-7-39)... She also added two service aces, eight digs and two blocks... After losing the first set, 25-18, and falling behind by as many as six points in Set 2, 17-11, Montana took a 22-20 lead by using an 11-3 run… Clark played a major role in that run scoring five points (three kills, one solo block, one ace) and serving during a 6-0 run… Down six, 17-11, Clark went on a 3-0 scoring run herself and scored four straight Griz points… She again served to open Set 3, with an ace bringing the score to 4-0 in a set the Grizzlies would not trail in… MSU closed to within a point at 12-11 before Clark recorded back-to-back kills to create separation… She had four kills and a solo block in Set 4, including the match-clinching kill.
