Lady Griz fall to Gustavus Adolphus

The Montana women's tennis team dropped their second straight dual match to open the 2004 season, a 3-4 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday night at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Montana won three-of-six singles matches but dropped all three doubles matches in the loss to the Golden Gusties.
Sophomore Erin Cooney defeated Marla Menne 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 3 singles position. Sophomore Jonna Schwartz remained unbeaten on the season in singles play with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lyndsey Palen. Freshman Malena Rosen needed three sets to top Kara Smiley in the No. 5 position, a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 decision.
The Lady Griz return to action on Sunday with an 11 a.m. dual match against the University of Iowa.
