The Montana women's tennis team will look to end its season on a high note Saturday morning as the Griz host Weber State at the Peak Racquet Club in Missoula in their final match of the year.
Â
Montana (2-15, 0-7 Big Sky), takes on the Wildcats (2-14, 0-6), looking to snap their losing streak on Senior Day where the Griz will celebrate the team's lone senior Shivika Agrawal.
Â
The dual gets underway at 10:30 a.m., with admission to the Peak free and open to the public. The Peak Racquet Club is located south of Missoula off Blue Mountain Road. For fans unable to make it, links to live scoring of the match are available at GoGriz.com/LiveStats.
Â
"Exiting to wrap up the year at home. It's big to get our fans out again. We've had nice crowd support all year and we really appreciate the fans coming out and supporting the team. Celebrating Shivika, our senior, will be a lot of fun as well," said head coach Steve Ascher.
Â
"We're going to try and get after a home win. It would be great for the team. They've worked hard and they've shown progression and development. We've been knocking on the door a lot, so it would be great to push that door down and get a win."
Â
Grizzly junior Kelsey Philips enters the match on the cusp of program history, set to become just the second UM player in the last decade to go undefeated in Big Sky Conference play. Phillips enters Saturday's dual at 7-0 in league play and 11-6 overall on court one.
Â
With one dual left to play, Phillips has now beat the No. 1 player from Utah State, South Dakota, No. 50 Sacramento State, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Portland State, NAU, and Idaho State, among others. She remains in the driver's seat for first team all-conference honors at the conclusion of the regular season.
