UM women's tennis to host MSU-Billings, EWU, UNC

The University of Montana women??s tennis team (5-10, 1-2 BSC) hosts three duals April 13-15 against MSU-Billings, Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado. The Grizzlies square off against the Yellowjackets (4-7) Thursday at 1 p.m. (MTN) to open the home stretch. UM will take on the Eagles (5-11, 1-4 BSC) Friday at 10 a.m. in a key Big Sky Conference match.
The three-match weekend closes Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Bears (6-9). All three matches are scheduled to be played at the Lindsay Tennis Center in Missoula.

??We??re very excited to be at home. I know our girls are excited to be sleeping in their own beds and playing on our home courts. We??ve done well at home so far this year. With the teams that are coming in, I think we can do really well this weekend.??
??Eastern Washington has definitely improved from last year. They are playing every team tough. They played Northern Arizona tough and Montana State tough. It??s going to be a match that we have to be ready to play. This is a very important match for us to make sure we qualify for the conference tournament. We really want to finish in the top three of conference so winning this match will be crucial.??

Montana split a pair of regular-season matches and triumphed in an exhibition contest last week on the Grizzlies?? Arizona road swing. UM started the trip with a 6-1 conference loss at Northern Arizona. After a 4-1 exhibition win over Grand Canyon on Saturday, Montana recorded a 7-0 sweep of Scottsdale Community College.
The Grizzlies were highlighted by junior Cheyne Ursich, sophomore Mari Castello and freshman Liz Walker. Ursich, from Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. , went 2-0 in singles play over the weekend. Castello and Walker won both of their doubles matches at the No. 1 position. Castello-Walker improved to 3-0 in Big Sky Conference doubles contests with their 9-8 win over NAU??s Katie Schurr and Paij Porter.
