Women's tennis falls to EWU in quarterfinal round

The University of Montana women??s tennis team lost 4-0 to No. 5 seed Eastern Washington on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Conference Tennis Championships in Gold River, Calif. The Grizzlies ended their season with a record of 8-12 overall, while EWU improved to 9-13 on the year.
The Eagles advanced to face top seed Sacramento State in semifinal action on Saturday. No. 3 seed Montana State won 4-0 over No. 6 seed Northern Colorado in the other quarterfinal, advancing to face No. 2 seed Northern Arizona.
Montana dropped the doubles point after falling in matches at the No. 1 and 3 positions. UM fell in singles contests at the No. 1, 2 and 6 positions before the match was ended.
