The Montana women's tennis team has been no stranger to travel this season. Taking endeavors to the East Coast, Southwest and Northwest, the Grizzlies have definitely seen many parts of the nation in a short amount of time.
Once again on the road, Montana (3-16, 2-7 BSC) will be traveling across the Rocky Mountains this week, playing Idaho State (5- 12, 3-6 BSC) on Friday, then Weber State (7-12, 6-2 BSC) to finish the season on Saturday.
Despite the season having only two matches remaining, coach Steve Ascher sees much the team can gain from them. "I'm excited to see how the team takes it upon themselves to step up and continue to push forward and earn a win," he said.
Throughout the season the Grizzlies' high-caliber schedule has tested them both physically and mentally.
"The schedule this season was a treat," Ascher said. "It's exciting to challenge oneself against strong competition. I don't build these schedules just to get the opportunity to play. The goal of the program is to be challenged and do something special."
Neither the Bengals nor Wildcats will be lacking intensity to close out the season. With the Bengals ending their season in Pocatello, they will not end their season with a home defeat without a fight for the last point.
Saturday's match against the Wildcats will be the final home match for Weber State but not its last match of the season. The Wildcats have already qualified for next week's six-team Big Sky Conference tournament.
Montana and Idaho State will play Friday at noon. Saturday's match against Weber State will start at 9 a.m.
