Montana continued its California pipeline with the signing of two California prep stars, including point guard Brandon Whitney. The Voice of the Griz recently caught up with Whitney, talking about being recruited by Montana, what he brings to the court and his love for L.A. sports.
Whitney, a 6-1 point guard for Bishop Alemany High School outside Los Angeles, earned numerous accolades throughout his career. As a junior in 2018-19, he averaged 17.8 points, 4.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. That summer, while playing in a tournament in Fairfax, he scored 39 points in a win over Santa Monica. Whitney played against current Grizzlies Eddy Egun and Kyle Owens in high school.
