
#GrizClassics: 2006 NCAA tournament win over Nevada

In Week 2 of Montana's #GrizClassics throwback, fans selected one of the biggest wins in Montana basketball history. On Thursday night, fans went back to 2006, when Montana earned an upset win over No. 5 seed Nevada in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Led by sophomore Andrew Strait's 22 points, the Grizzlies shot 52 percent in the 87-79 victory from Salt Lake City. Strait was joined by teammates and fellow Griz greats Virgil Matthews (20 points), Kevin Criswell (18) and Jordan Hasquet (16).
On Thursday night, Griz Athletics restreamed the 300th edition of the Brawl of the Wild on both Twitter and Facebook. Each Monday for the foreseeable future, fans will have the opportunity to vote on the #GrizClassics Game of the Week, with the winning game being streamed on both Twitter and Facebook on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. (MT).
