Soccer program earns Team Academic Award

The Montana soccer program was named a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award on Thursday, the organization announced.

Coach Chris Citowicki's Grizzlies had a 3.70 team GPA for the 2021 fall and 2022 spring semesters, which far surpassed the minimum requirement for recognition of 3.0.

Of the NCAA Division I programs that were named Team Academic Award winners, only eight had a higher GPA than Montana's.

During the fall semester, Montana had 27 of 28 athletes earn a GPA of at least 3.0. Ten made the Dean's List, seven had a GPA of 4.0.

In the spring, 20 of 22 athletes had a GPA of at least 3.0. Nine made the Dean's List, seven had a term GPA of 4.0.

This marks the 13th time in program history that Montana has been a recipient of the Team Academic Award.
