Idaho State used the long ball to sweep a doubleheader against Montana on Saturday afternoon at Miller Ranch Stadium in Pocatello.
Angelica Cano hit a pair of home runs in Game 1 and drove in all five runs as the Bengals (13-23, 5-4 BSC) won 5-1.
After Riley Stockton gave the Grizzlies a 3-0 lead in the top of the first in Game 2 with a three-run home run, Idaho State scored the final 11 runs to run-rule Montana (9-33, 3-9 BSC) 11-3 in six innings.
Solo home runs in the first and second innings helped pull the Bengals even at 3-3. A two-run home run in the fifth gave Idaho State a 6-3 lead.
The Bengals scored five runs on four hits, all coming with two outs, in the bottom of the sixth for their second-ever run-rule victory over the Grizzlies.
Grace Haegele got the start in Game 1 and was in a 0-0 game through two outs in the bottom of the third.
She gave up back-to-back two-out singles, then a three-run home run to Cano, her fourth of the season.
Montana had a chance to hit its way back into the game in the top of the fifth.
After Grace Hardy and Presley Jantzi had one-out singles, Hannah Jablonski made it 3-1 with an RBI double down the left-field line.
With runners on second and third and one out, a strike out and pop up to the pitcher ended the inning. Montana was 2 for 9 with runners in scoring position on Saturday.
Cano made it 5-1 with a one-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.
Haegele went the distance while dropping to 4-15 on the season. Jantzi had a pair of hits.
Stockton gave her team a jolt of energy early in Game 2.
Julie Phelps led off the game with an infield single, Elise Ontiveros was then hit by a pitch. After a pair of fly outs, Stockton belted her third career home run to make it 3-0.
It would be all Bengals after that.
Idaho State scored twice in the bottom of the first, tied it with a solo home run in the second. An RBI ground out in the fourth gave the Bengals the lead for good.
Four of ISU's five runs in the bottom of the sixth were unearned after a two-out error prolonged the inning.
Allie Brock (4-13) got the start and allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings. Evelyn O'Brien and Maggie Joseph both pitched in relief.
Phelps had two of Montana's seven hits.
The Grizzlies will wrap up their regular-season schedule next week with a home series against Weber State. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, the finale on Saturday.
