Â

Â
The Tommies are 3-0 at home this year and have won seven straight home games dating back to last season. This is the fourth season at the D-1 level after reclassifying from the D-III level.
Â
Last season, they won 20 games and reached the Summit League semifinals.
Â
This will be the second ever meeting between the two schools. Montana won the first meeting 78-59 on Nov. 17, 2022.
Â
The Big Sky Conference went 4-5 against the Summit League on day one of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge. Montana is looking to finish off the yearly event perfect for the second straight time.
Â
Last season, the Grizzlies defeated North Dakota State on the road and South Dakota at home.
Â
The game will not be available on its normal radio channel as Montana football's playoff game against South Dakota State will be live on KGVO. The game can be heard on the Varsity Network with Ace Sauerwein on the call.
Â
SCORCHING START
Montana typically loads the schedule with difficult games in the first month, and this year is no exception. The three road games Montana has played are against undefeated teams that are still within the top 21 in the NET Rankings. The schedule is the 11th strongest, according to the NET.
Â
The Grizzlies have handled business at home, however, starting the year with six straight home wins. It's the most home wins to open a year since going 12-0 to start the home slate in 2021-22.
Â
Overall, the 6-3 start matches the best open to a season under DeCuire. The 2018-19 team also started 6-3 before finishing the season 26-9 and Big Sky Champions.
Â
If Montana were to win on Saturday, the 7-3 start would be the best for the program since the 2005-06 team. That year, the Grizzlies opened the year 9-1. They went on to finish 24-7, conference champions, and the last Big Sky team to win an NCAA Tournament game.
Â
