Griz Athletics to host blood drive on June 27
6/14/2024 11:04:00 AM | General
Griz Athletics will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, June 27, from 12-6 p.m. on the North B concourse of the Adams Center.
By hosting the blood drive, Griz Athletics and all donors can honor Troy Ross, a 9-year-old Montanan who has fought a long and difficult battle with pulmonary capillaritis, a rare condition that has caused his immune system to attack his lungs. Since his diagnosis in 2017, his main treatment depended on blood donations from selfless donors. Troy reached a remission status in 2023 and has since been enjoying playing football, going to school and staying healthy.
The American Red Cross asks that those interested in donating make an appointment by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, going to www.RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (733-2767).
