
Montana places 68 on winter Academic All-Big Sky teams

The University of Montana placed 68 student-athletes from winter sports on the Academic All-Big Sky teams, the league announced on Friday.

Montana had the second most selections of any school in the conference, trailing only Weber State's 81 selections.

Head coach Doug Fraley's track program led the way with 51 total athletes earning Academic All-Big Sky honors. Nate Harris's Lady Griz team had nine athletes qualify and Travis DeCuire's men's basketball team had eight athletes. Â

Track had the second most combined athletes between men's and women's roster and the Lady Griz were tied for the second most.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have had at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA through the fall semester and then competed in at least half of their team competitions this past winter or, in the case of indoor track and field, at the Big Sky Championship.
