
Griz conclude road trip with game versus USF Dons

THE GAME: The University of Montana Grizzlies (3-2) continue their current road trip, playing the University of San Francisco Dons (3-1) on Friday, Nov. 30th in USF's War Memorial Gym (5,300). Tip-off is at 8:00 p.m. (Mtn.).
RADIO/STREAMING: The "Voice of the Grizzles" is Mick Holien, a 12-time "Montana Broadcaster of the Year" selection, who is calling the play-by-play for his 20th season in a row. Streaming is available at www.gogriz.com.
TELEVISION: There is no TV scheduled for the UM-USF game.
GRIZ LAST TWO GAMES: BYU 85, Montana 60: Senior forward Brandon Davies registered a double-double and the BYU Cougars capitalized on turnovers, as they defeated the Grizzlies in a non-league contest in Energy Solutions Arena (attendance 12,378), the home of the NBA's Utah Jazz. BYU capitalized on 17 Griz turnovers, scoring 26 points off of Montana's miscues. Griz junior-guard forward Kareem Jamar had team-highs of 17 points and 9 rebounds, while sophomore guard Keron DeShields was UM's only other player in double figures with 12 points. UM's leading scorer, senior forward Mathias Ward, had just 7 points and played only 19 minutes, and he fouled out with 8:24 left to play. Davies, a 6-9, 235-pound senior, had game-highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
At Montana 67, San Diego 66: Sophomore forward Kevin Henderson nailed a three-point shot with 2.5 seconds remaining in the game to give the Griz the dramatic victory. Ward led UM with a season-high 23 points. Henderson was UM's second leading scorer with 9 points. Jamar was held to 8 points, but had a team-leading 6 rebounds, and tied a career-high with 11 assists, and his last dish was to Henderson which led to the game-winning shot.
100TH GAME FOR MATHIAS: Ward will be playing in his 100th career game (33rd start) at USF this Friday.
TINKLE FOURTH ON WINS LIST: Seventh-year Montana head coach Wayne Tinkle has 119 career wins -- the fourth most in school history.
SERIES/LAST MEETING: USF leads the series 4-0. The Dons defeated the Grizzlies 65-62 in Missoula last year, and were led by senior guard Rashad Green, who had 18 points and 9 rebounds. Senior forward Art Stewart led the Griz with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
