Coach Steve Ascher was proud of the competitive match his team put forth against a well-established program.
"This was a solid performance and definitely one we want to build off of," he said.
Match by match Ascher sees a team growing into a tight unit of competitive athletes. "The team is learning and developing a tougher mentality in match play, it takes experience to build the sort of fighter mentality we want moving forward."
For Montana a metamorphosis has been taking place while competing on the road against powerful schools. The Grizzlies' confidence and competiveness has been growing at an accelerated rate with players seeing how far they have come along this season.
"I feel like we were all competitive in doubles and singles," Carbo said. "We all had positive thoughts from our matches as we were trying to play our best."
Carbo made sure to note how she and her teammates are benefiting from competing against strong schools.
"We try our best to fight for every point," she said. "The team is building more confidence after playing these ranked teams. We are getting better and are more confident when we jump onto the court."
