MISSOULA, Mont. – Montana earned a 104-43 victory over Yellowstone Christian College on Friday afternoon, posting the second-largest margin of victory in school history.
The Grizzlies scored on their first three possessions of the game – jumping out to a 7-0 lead just 88 seconds into the contest – and never trailed, leading by as many as 61 points. The final score was nearly identical to Montana's 102-42 win over the Centurions last December. The two games now account for two of the four-widest margins of victory ever, trailing only a 103-34 win over Gonzaga in 1945 and tied with a 94-33 win over Carroll College in 1969.
It marks the 32nd time in school history that Montana has scored 100 points in a game.
Several individuals had strong performances on Friday, including six players scoring in double figures, led by junior Kyle Owens (16 points on 5-of-8 shooting). However, the star of the game was senior guard Cameron Parker, who recorded the third triple-double in Montana history.
Parker finished with 10 points (5-of-7 shooting), 11 rebounds (career high) and 14 assists (UM high). The only other two Grizzlies to ever record a triple-double are Kareem Jamar (2012 vs. Hawaii) and Delvon Anderson (1990 vs. Simon Fraser).
Parker played a team-high 29 minutes while earning a start in place of sophomore guard Brandon Whitney, who missed his second game in the past two weeks.

Sophomore guard Robby Beasley III totaled 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting; senior forward Scott Blakney had a Montana-high 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting; and Derrick Carter-Hollinger shot 5-of-6 to total 11 points.
Additionally, freshman Jack Wetzel (three points, two rebounds) scored his first collegiate points, as did Trey Lawrence (five points on 2-of-2 shooting), who made his Griz debut on Friday.
As a team, Montana shot .566 from the floor while limiting the Centurions to a .274 clip, including .130 (2-of-15) from deep. Montana also out-rebounded YCC, 51 to 30, and forced the Centurions into 19 turnovers (25 points off of turnovers).
Montana jumped out to an early lead before YCC fought back to get within two points, 16-14, with 13:05 to play in the opening half. Montana, though, scored the next 12 points – on four made 3-pointers – and held YCC to one made basket over a 5-minute stretch. At that point, the lead was built back up to 20 (38-18), with Owens at one point scoring 12 consecutive Griz points.
The Grizzlies, who beat Air Force on Wednesday night, are now a perfect 6-0 at home this season.
